The Tax Authority signed an agreement in Muscat with Nortal to develop an electronic tax administration system. The agreement marks a strategic step aimed at modernising the tax system and advancing digital transformation in line with leading global practices in technology governance.

The agreement focuses on building an advanced tax system that contributes to automating tax collection processes, reducing human intervention and improving data accuracy. It also includes the application of artificial intelligence technologies to provide advanced analytical tools to monitor cases of tax evasion and identify gaps, thereby reinforcing the principle of fairness among taxpayer
