Minister in phone call with Venezuelan Foreign Minister

Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi received a telephone call from Yvan Gil Pinto, Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

During the call, the Ministers discussed recent developments related to Venezuela. They reaffirmed the importance of respecting international law and adhering to dialogue and diplomacy in ways that preserve states’ sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister expressed his country’s appreciation for the Sultanate of Oman’s consistent positions and its call to ensure security and peace for Venezuela as well as peaceful coexistence among states.

Sayyid Badr expressed his appreciation for the level of existing bilateral relations. He welcomed Venezuela’s direction to open a resident embassy in Muscat, noting the positive impact this step will have in strengthening areas of cooperation and supporting opportunities for trade and economic partnership between the two friendly countries and peoples.
