Ambassador Issa Alshibani, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of India; and Military Attaché, Issa Alnahawi; attended the farewell ceremony for the traditional sailing vessel INSV Kaundinya. The vessel is sailing from Porbandar in Gujarat to Muscat, marking the shared maritime heritage of Oman and India and building on the long standing relations between the two nations.

The meeting discussed opportunities to enhance trade and investment between the two brotherly countries.

The visit took place in the year marking the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The joint statement is issued on the occasion of the Indian Prime Minister’s visit to the Sultanate of Oman.

The signing included the Joint Maritime Vision document and four Memoranda of Understanding in various fields.

The high-level discussions focused on reviewing the extensive framework of cooperation between Oman and India.

The agreement aims to strengthen trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.

The forum focused on reviewing promising investment opportunities within Oman and forging a stronger economic partnership with India.

The guest and his accompanying delegation were seen off by His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs.

The Republic of India is the sixth largest trading partner of the Sultanate of Oman in terms of total exports.
